Austrian artist Hans Schabus recommended the blind eye project for Johannes Wegenstein’s “Artist-in-Residence Programme” at Schikaneder to coincide with blind eye exhibits in Manhattan and Brooklyn, forming an iron art triangle. After taking over in 1996 what is the second oldest cinema in Vienna, founded in 1906, Wegenstein curated workshops and special events in addition to featuring programming former retail shop space for art installations as part of his “Future Cinema” until 2008.
